Penny Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 2026

Penny ("we," "us," "Penny") is a personal budgeting app operated by Natalia Tomsa (Penny Labs), Moldova. This policy explains what information Penny collects, how it's used, and the choices you have. Contact us anytime at pennythedragonapp@gmail.com.

What we collect

Account information. When you first open Penny, we create an anonymous account automatically — no name, email, or password required. If you choose to link an email (via "Protect your hoard"), we store that email so you can recover your account.

Financial information you enter. Penny is a personal tracking tool. Everything financial in the app — expenses, income, budgets, savings goals, subscriptions and bills, debts, and investments — is entered manually by you for your own record-keeping. Penny does not connect to your bank, card, or brokerage accounts, and never has access to your real account balances or transaction history from any financial institution.

App activity. We store your currency preference, coins, achievements, streaks, and wardrobe items so your progress is saved and syncs across sessions.

Subscription status. If you subscribe to Penny Pro, our payment partner (RevenueCat) and the App Store or Google Play tell us whether your subscription is active. We never see your card number or full payment details — those are handled entirely by Apple or Google.

What we don't collect. We do not use advertising SDKs, do not track you across other apps or websites, do not access your contacts, photos, or location, and do not sell your information to anyone, ever.

How we use your information

To operate the app (calculate your budget, streaks, and coins), to let you recover your data if you link an email, to process your Penny Pro subscription, and to respond if you contact us for support. We do not use your financial entries for any purpose beyond showing them back to you inside the app.

Where your data is stored

Penny's database is hosted by Supabase on servers in Frankfurt, Germany (European Union), regardless of where you live. Your data is protected by security rules that ensure only you can access your own information — not even Penny's operators can see one user's data by browsing another's.

Who we share information with

We work with a small number of service providers who process data on our behalf, under their own privacy and security obligations:

We never sell, rent, or trade your information to advertisers or data brokers.

Your choices and rights

Inside the app (Me → Privacy & security), you can export your data as a CSV file at any time, and delete all your data permanently with one action. If you're in the EU/EEA or a region with similar protections, you also have the right to access, correct, restrict, or object to our processing of your information, and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. To exercise any of these rights, email pennythedragonapp@gmail.com.

Children and teenagers

Penny is designed to be useful for teenagers learning to manage money, alongside adult users. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without parental consent. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it. We encourage parents and guardians to be involved in how younger teens use financial apps.

Security

All data travels between your device and our servers over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Access to your data is enforced at the database level, not just inside the app. We do not store passwords — account recovery uses one-time codes sent to your email.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you inside the app.
